Designed for overlays with a minimum compacted thickness of 40mm, Tensar Glasstex P provides not just asphalt reinforcement, but stress relief and a water barrier too.
It’s a reinforced composite comprised of bundles of glass filaments stitch bonded in a grid pattern on to a non-woven geotextile fabric; the filaments have a very high tensile modulus, and so have significant strength at low strain. That’s what makes Glasstex P particularly well-suited to absorbing high stresses in asphalt overlays, especially those associated with reflective cracking such as occur over fractured cement bound bases and jointed concrete slabs.
Once saturated with bitumen during installation the fabric also acts as a waterproofing layer, resisting moisture ingress to reduce weakening of the lower pavement layers. Watch an animation of the installation process here.

- Suitable for overlays as thin as 40mm.
- High modulus glass filaments reinforce the asphalt concrete overlay.
- The bitumen impregnated backing fabric relieves stresses.
- Bitumen saturated fabric also forms a long-term water barrier.
- Particularly suited to sustained loading.
- Everything you need from one source.
